I was running really late for work this morning (we woke up half an hour before I had to leave!) so I grabbed the first thing I could get my hands on – a pair of jeans. I think denim is often seen as an easy option and it can be just that – I love the look of a classic white t-shirt, fitted jeans and pair of heels.
Denim has been a huge trend this season on the streets of Tokyo, everywhere from high-end boutiques to low-budget stores have been promoting their denim items – popular garments this summer have been shirts and shorts.
Here’s a selection from 109 of denim that’s caught my eye:
I love the buckle detailing and darker denim of the jeans from Galsville – just imagine them with a pair of killer heels and a great scarf! The maxi-dress from Vence is a cool little budget item that will brighten up your summer wardrobe for a recessionista-friendly price. Salopettes/dungarees/all-in-ones are also really on trend – check out this post – and I think the Cecil McBee take on it is perfect for girly girls! I really love the Bless Tokyo shorts – go punk with ripped tights, and hang on to them for the upcoming autumn/winter – they won’t let you down! Finally, I just adore the MARS denim dress: wonderful tailoring, and a really nice little touch with the scarf that’s also bang on trend.
Japanese denim is of really great quality, it’ll cost more than items made in China or elsewhere but is totally worth it. Look out for labels that say ‘made in Japan’ and you know you’ve hit the jackpot. Take a look at Samuel’s post on some rather risqué jeans here!
Remember – fashion trends may come and go, but denim is forever!
