The fashion world, and Tokyo too, is full of amazing brands that deserve some proper recognition. I feel like Tokyo Telephone has evolved as a site considerably over the past few months in particular, and I hope to continue our on-going mission of bringing less well-known brands as well as more familiar Japanese street fashion to a wider audience. Maybe it’s because we’re British, but we love to champion the underdog! There’s such an amazing and inspiring world of fashion just in Japan alone, and nothing warms my heart like seeing the brands we feature get excited that someone in a different country is interested in what they’re up to.

Of course this is all well and good, but I’m afraid that despite my fabulous bi-lingual search engine skills very little about Dissteady Own Philosophy has turned up (other than the awesome name! Ahem). However, I do feel that Dissteady Own Philosophy are ones to watch for the future. What really caught my eye was the beautiful illustrative quality that exemplifies much of the designs – both literally and figuratively.

Wouldn’t this look great as a manga panel?

My favourite shot! I think this perfectly shows off the subtlety of the spring/summer collection. Gorgeous colours in the sky!

Love love love the dress.

From the previous collection:

Interpretation of a theme – big fat thumbs up to the suit!

As I mentioned, there’s very little that I can find about Dissteady Own Philosophy but there’s a lot to love here – the best prints I’ve seen for a long time, along with great cuts and designs. Keep your eye on them; I know I will be!
