If you happen to be in the Akihabara area this week and the mystifying technology (and equally mystifying legions of girls in maid costumes) leave you with a thirst for a bit of free culture, then Hirotomo Onodera’s “Night Walk” exhibition may be right up your street.

In his first solo show, Onodera invites his audience along with him as he walks the highways and byways of Tokyo. Aside from the inevitable Blade Runner-esque comparisons, his photographs offer an anonymous and underpopulated view of night-time Tokyo where everyday scenes are transformed from the mundane to the intriguing.
