Gyaru

In a nutshell: high heels, long hair and short skirts

Likely locations: Shibuya

Magazine: Egg

About gyaru: gyaru is all about the glamour! Often seen as Japan’s take on Western fashion, but done in a highly-polished and totally gorgeous way. Arguably, gyaru is characterised by lightened long curled hair, a healthy tan and hot-pants, yet I’d go so far as to say with the range of sub-styles and influences that this stereotypical image is just an starting point.

I love Egg magazine; you can tell the models are having way more fun than those from other magazines! Hopefully without sounding too Gok Wan, it’s all about attitude.
