In the world of Japanese silver accessories it takes a lot to stand out, never-mind be a true original. Holloow designed by Ken Blood is a true trend setter who constantly creates jewelery that puts a fresh spin on classic concepts and designs. With one eye on disposable pop-culture imagery and the other on fine jewelery, Holloow jewelery is designed to last and weather with use. Key to this is Ken Blood’s use of multiple coatings on top of heavily polished silver, this allows for the various coats of color to wear off gradually to a really unique result.
Personally I think Holloow’s gear works really well with a smart suit where traditional silver would look too casual.
I recently wore this Bolo tie with a sharp white shirt for a fresh take on southern glam
Another of my favorites from last years A/W collection was this black and blue coated dog tag with heavy engraving
And finally on the wishlist is this great keychain with his new “rust” finish to the silver. I might have to save up a bit as this one comes in at a cool 77,700 Yen.
I hope you are as taken with this brand as I am. Trust me the quality of finish on each and every piece is amazing with fine engraving of the brand’s signature. I would also advise you to pick up any piece you are hankering for when you have the chance as it is always produced in limited quantity and he never reproduces old designs. You can see the full collection on the Holloow Homepage and if you want to see the pieces in person than you can at my favorite Shinjuku shop Kawano.
