It’s been a big month here at Tokyo Telephone – I’m sure regular readers will have noticed the biggest news of all; our huge site redesign, hurrah! It was about time we tidied up the site, and once we started we couldn’t stop! I hope you like our new look as much as we do, I can’t stop looking at it…
New site: As I mentioned above, we’ve jiggled everything around at Tokyo Telephone! The search has moved to the top, and the RSS feed is at the bottom, just under the fancy carousel of our latest images. If you get lost in our huge archives (we’re almost up to 500 posts!) then follow the ‘breadcrumbs’ under header. Speaking of which, our header this month features our photos from one of our favourite London hang-outs, Primitive. We’ve also taken our first steps into the wonderful world of smart phones, and now have a dedicated mobile site – give it a go!
The Dark Side: In a Tokyo Telephone first, we did a content swap with the fabulous Style Noir (we love their style so much!) read our article on Aoi Kotsuhiroi’s wicked shoes here, and Style Noir’s post on Atsuko Kudo’s amazing latex fashion catwalk here.
Personal Call: This month, Samuel featured his first fashion love; the gorgeously gothic jewellery from Codognato. Stunning. Meanwhile, I put my clothes on the floor and took some photos of them – looks better than it sounds?
Hair Today: If you’re a man in Shibuya, or fancy a little eye-candy, head down the shiny new Buffalo Bobs hair and nail salon in 109 Mens – the gyaru-o lifestyle just got one step closer… Samuel also featured his picks from the current fashion crop at 109 Mens, and I just love those silver shoes!
Harajuku A Go-Go: We put together our guide to our favourite places in Harajuku – bookmark it now for when you go! We hope to update it in the future, and if you’ve got any suggestions to add to the list then feel free to let us know.
Trackback: Huge thanks this month to Ri for the links (love her Tokyo Walking series), the darling Caroline for nominating us for a blogger award (woo!), and Tokyo Bounce for including us in their post on how to get that vintage smell – I will say one thing for Japanese vintage shops, they don’t often smell. Heaven! Thanks also to fashion blogger extraordinaire Susie of Style Bubble for linking to us in her posts on Tokyo – we’re still beaming from ear to ear.
Tokyo Calling: I’ve being doing a touch of fashion blogging for NihongoUp’s style blog – take a look for articles on gothic lolita fashion and more! NihongoUp is also a great place if you’re interested in learning Japanese – this reminds me; I must get on with studying…
Links and Sites: We’re always on the look out for interesting and fabulous blogs & sites to add to our phone book – leave us a comment or drop us a line at hello @ tokyotelephone.com if you’d like to be added to our ever-growing list. Content from Tokyo Telephone is also available on flickr, tumblr and twitter too – if you like what we do, then feel free to spread the word with our shiny social media links at the bottom of each article. We’re also featured on Glam UK‘s fashion channel – a great way to see what’s going on on the rest of the network.
We’d also like to say a huge congratulations おめでとうございます to one of our favourite Japanese designers, Christian Dada, who had the honour of one of his fantastic creations being worn by Lady Gaga on MTV in Japan! Wow, lucky Ms. Gaga!
