… Fashion toasted that is!
I’m really taken with Mercury Duo’s clean and simple style – I love their classic trench coats, high boots, layered tops and bold accessories. Their clothing lends itself well to a variety of styles, and I could see quite a few items becoming old favourites dragged from the wardrobe every week! Look out for leopard print bangles as a quick way take on the animal print trend, red ankle boots that would liven up a monotone outfit in an instant, and long socks – another recycled trend that’s huge this winter.
I found this collection particularly interesting due to the collaboration between Mercury Duo and Rumi Neely of fashiontoast.com (here she is in the October issue of ViVi magazine). MD really capture and compliment Rumi’s style to the extent that I would have thought she’d been a regular model for them! As far as I’m aware, this is the first collaboration between a non-Japanese fashion blogger and a Japanese brand (please correct me if I’m mistaken…), and proves the extent to which fashion bloggers have become a staple for both promotion and creativity. I’m sure many readers have blogs themselves – comment if you’d like to exchange links – as blogging is such a great way to share personal style and views, and doesn’t look bad on the ol’ CV either!
Personally, I’m a huge fan of Rumi’s effortlessly stylish look, but whatever your opinion I’m sure we can agree that’s she’s a lucky lady indeed! Oh, and er, if anyone from a Japanese brand is reading… you know where we are! Ha!
