I’m almost a week late, but: Happy Movember! – “Movember (the month formerly known as November) is a moustache growing charity event held during November each year that raises funds & awareness for men’s health“.
We love a bit of charidee/charity here at Tokyo Telephone, and although there’s as yet no official Movemeber movement in Japan, Dicokick are well placed to take advantage of the moustache month – ladies, if you can’t grow a ‘tache, tell the men in your life about Movemember & pick up one of these luscious Dicokick beauties while you’re at it!
Thought this was all about facial hair? Sorry to disappoint you, Ron Burgundy fans!
I love the concept above – silver and gold frames that can either be worn blank, or filled with delicate coloured glass printed with little sayings. It’s like a stained glass window/greetings card that you can wear! The different shapes of the frames and glass, as well as the candy colours, remind me of boxes of chocolates and the translucent sweet wrappers that I’d spend hours smoothing out after eating my weight in choco at Christmas time. I think that’s what really appeals to me about Dicokick’s designs; in the vast majority of them there’s a real sense of playful fun. Talking of fun, I’d love to see Dicokick jewellery paired with some primary-coloured WC clothing – a match made in heaven!
And now for something a little more grown up! I’m really intrigued by the leather necklaces above, not just because it’s an unusual choice of materials (just you wait for our Manicolle post!), but also because I’d love to get my hands on them and have a good old play twisting the strands, looping them together and even pining them up with some more Dicokick brooches….
Finally, you can’t go wrong with anything as timelessly classic as pearls and bowties, especially not together in some kind of gender-bending art deco 1920s wonderful mish-mash. Sign me up!
