On my last visit to Japan I happened to pop in to Q Pot, and it was love at first sight!

Launched in 2002 by Wakamastu Tadaaki, Q Pot produces collaborations between many different media such as food and advertising as well as original designs. And original they certainly are!

I adore this Alice in Wonderland Tweedle Dee Tweedle Dum double ring! (28350yen/£198/$303)

It’s a ring… it’s a burger! Instead of “you are what you eat”, Q Pot make a good case for “you eat what you wear”, [...]

Exhibition; Alice in Wonderland

By Tokyo Telephone On April 22, 2010 · Add Comment

As if Japan wasn’t already fully under the spell of Alice in Wonderland, the latest exhibition at Parco would have anyone longing to go through the looking glass.

Featuring costumes, props, story boards and more from the film, this is a must for fans of both the books and film, as well as those with a taste for Tim Burton’s elegant gothic tales.

Why not fall down the rabbit hole in Tokyo? Be a tourist in Wonderland!

The style is best described in Japanese as Onii-Kei, which tends to describe a slightly more aggressive and adult Japanese men’s style.  To me the defining features of Fuga are the very tight fit which gives you a great silhouette as well as [...]

Shop; Swimmer

Looking for a pink fluffy toilet seat cover? A clock with poodles? Head down to Swimmer, the ultimate kitsch heaven!

Swimmer taps perfectly in to the cute (kawaii) market, appealing to both Japanese natives and international tourists looking for the epitome of typical Japanese pink plastic cheesy cuteness.

My top items from Swimmer’s current collection are bejewelled earphones with dangly cats (1365yen/$15):

And the pink strawberry soap dispenser for just 368yen ($4):

Why not add some retro [...]
