Lonely hearts: WLTM fellow-Chanel enthusiast with a penchant for monochrome. Feminine style appreciated, garish need not apply.
Oh dearest Delyle! You had me from the start… And what’s not to love? Monochrome: check. Classic & chic: check. Girly but not childish: check. Obvious Chanel influence: check.
As with MA*RS, Delyle is a brand that stands out as they have strong image – again, black white and pink are the main colours used, making difficult outfit coordination a thing of the past! Perfect for banishing those Bad Wardrobe days (alas, today was one…).
I’d say that while MA*RS is the equivalent of the funny flirty girl at the bar, then Delyle is her older sister sipping cocktails and turning heads. As we’ve seen with the recently released magazine Edge-s, more mature styles are big business and are bucking the trends when it comes to recession & downsizing. It’s pretty interesting to note that while Shibuya’s iconic hmv store is closing its doors after 20 years due to the economic downturn & technological take-over, a new successful magazine has been launched and several Japanese fashion stores are actually increasing the number of branches they have. Personally, I’m a huge fan of Edge-s and mode gyaru style, and I’m really looking forward to updating my wardrobe with this seasons latest looks.
Monochrome is ruling the roost again this season at Delyle, with oversized printed t-shirts and tops tucked in to plain skirts. Pair high-heeled pumps with fringe details on clothes, and add pearls & quilted bags for timeless elegance!
