After last week’s look at the genius of Candy, the other side of Fake Tokyo – Sister have declared their hand through their muse the Japanese socialite Eriko Nakao. The lookbook for this winter is a stylistic leap from the previous photo shoots and fits the inherent edge that is a big part of the Fake Tokyo experience. Eriko Nakao is and always has been an obvious match for Sister and she brings with her a trademarked (and tumblr friendly) Chrome Hearts rock chick meets fashion in an alley vibe that feels unbelievably fresh in a city where CanCam is still the best selling fashion magazine amongst the young female demographic.
On the other hand she is also clearly remarkable adept at conveying the unabashed classic femininity that Sister stands for – a true muse indeed.
The corset and cat fan in the above are by Maiko Tekeda whose use of shadows is really quite remarkable and really demands to be seen in the flesh if you are in the Tokyo area.
I just love how the shadows created by those precision cut holes in the collar complete the overall form of the piece. Innovative fashion at its absolute best.
Very much approve of that Sophie Hulme bag and shoes.
Wonderful Sachio Kawasaki trench here, twinned with my favorite hat from Piers Atkinson’s current collection – needless to say, it is long sold out.
Fabulous stuff all round and great to see Sister having fun with their stock, even if it is not going to stop traffic in the same way that a mere broach from Candy would.
Talking of Candy, their LaForet limited shop is now open, Yuima Nakazato’s classic first collection is being exhibited in the lobby and best of all he has produced the t-shirt and cardigan below just for occasion.
If you are around then definitely don’t miss this chance to see this rising star’s work in the flesh, the finish and fabrics do amaze and baffle in equal measure and then you can join me in saving to buy into his avant garde world.
Hope you enjoyed this little look in the world of Sister – which side of the Fake Tokyo universe do you come down on?
