It’s been a busy month for us here at Tokyo Telephone Tower! Aside from Noah the cat eating a donut, here’s what’s been happening on the site:
Answerphone: We’ve been out & about and in contact with some great people this month – take a look at our interviews with gothic J-fashion blogger La Carmina, Japanese culture expert Akemi Solloway, and some pioneers of the British J-fashion scene: UK lolitas. We’ve also added an interview tag for easier browsing.
Telephone on Tour: We’ll be continuing to explore what the UK has to offer the Japanese aficionado – you can see upcoming events here and here. I’d like to remind readers that the deadline for applications for the Kera modelling competition at Hyper Japan is just around the corner, click here now!
Kawaii Culture: We were lucky enough to attend the Kawaii Culture panel at the Japanese Art Festival, hosted by Harajuku brand 6%Dokidoki as part of their world tour – read the article here – the man behind the brand Sebastian Masuda likened kawaii to being the new punk; what do you think of his views?
New Season Fashion: As ardent lovers of black clothing, Samuel & I have been getting really excited about all the autumn/winter fashion that’s being produced by our favourite clothing brands – keep an eye on the fashion tag and stay in know about all the latest trends!
Big News: As some of our twitter followers may be aware, we’re heading back to Tokyo in October! October is a huge month for us, as we’re celebrating six months of Tokyo Telephone, my birthday, and our two-year anniversary as a couple ♥ Wow, that’s a lot of celebratory cocktails! We’ll also be attending the King of Tattoo convention in Daikanyama – I’m looking for any excuse to get my new tattoos out!
Links & Other Sites: We’re always on the look out for interesting and fabulous blogs & sites to add to our phone book – leave us a comment or drop us a line at hello @ tokyotelephone.com if you’d like to be added to our ever-growing list. Content from Tokyo Telephone is also available on flickr, livejournal and twitter – I’m tweeting left right & centre at the moment, come and join us! We’re also featured on Glam UK‘s fashion channel – a great way to see what’s going on on the rest of the network!
I’m really looking forward to continuing this site, we’ve gone from strength to strength and it’s all thanks to you, readers! Slushy sentiments, eh? Must be time for a cuppa & a horror film…
