Last season, Spiral Girl took on many a winter trend – sheepskin jackets, military styling, red accents – and for spring & summer 2011 they’ve pulled it out of the bag again.
I’ve been banging on about the main trends for the up-coming season for the past couple of months, so I’m sure I won’t need to repeat myself yet again! Maybe it’s because they’re hidden away at the bottom of Shibuya 109, but I always seem to miss out Spiral Girl when I’m doing my shopping/scouting rounds… a habit I’ll have to break, I think. Overall, I’m quietly impressed with Spiral Girl’s quietly impressive collection: key trends are represented, but with an edgier adult feel to them. For example, there’s damaged denim shorts paired with an oversize blazer, wide-leg trousers with chunky braces and sheer blouse with polka dots echoed on ankle socks. I have to say that I’m more of a fan of this styling, but (of course) if it was down to me everything would be in black leather. I really do think there’s a lot to like here, not just Anna Tsuchiya (I think?!) in the catalogue shots, it’s perfect for those that want to be on trend without being a fashion slave…

This is how we rock a kitchen.
Love the black & white brogues!
High waisted shorts, polka dots, ankle socks… it’s all working wonderfully.
Effortless chic! Wide-leg jumpsuit & white shirt – I’ll have to try this myself! Would look fab with a splash of bright red lipstick too.
A touch of mode, with the oversize jumper & nude shoes (that make your legs look ridiculously long, hurrah for that!)
