If you love the bright colours and loud style of Galaxxxy, Super Lovers & 6%DokiDoki (and maybe even JSG), take note please: there’s a Broken Doll that needs your attention.

Samuel has something of a 6th sense when it comes to jewellery, and it was on one of our whirlwind trips to Shimokitazawa (why we don’t go there more often is a mystery) that I allowed him to drag me into a bizarre run-down shopping centre-like place just around the corner from Shimokitazawa station. What I didn’t expect to find among the granny clothes and imported antiques was Broken Doll. Looking out of place in such an austere setting, I can’t help but wonder what the grandmothers think of this little corner of the strange and kawaii… Truly a unique fusion of music and fashion, look out for Broken Doll (Sachi: vo & Kensuke: guitar) one day taking the world by storm and spreading UV neon goodies across the globe!

A taste of things to come… Onwards, ahoy for a selection of staff, customers and stock!

Yeah! It’s just like how Fruits magazine used to be. Kinda.

Love the multi-coloured hair on show…

And the prize for Broken Doll shopper with best hair goes to: this girl.

Green! Pink! Blue! Black!

Edible lollipop earrings. Good for sugar addicts.

One of the best pieces of eyeball jewellery I’ve seen for a while!

Of course, you’ve got to show support for a good cause;

Let’s finish on a high with a video from Broken Doll:

    Digging their sound & the video! ❤ The style is totally neon haha, but I have to admit I would probably throw on a couple of their accessories to spice up an outfit~

    @ Tori: I agree, I think the colourful accessories would look great and add a bit of an edge to a mode-rock outfit! 🙂

    I am so there for next week’s Golden Week insane shopping trip of the century.
    I think I’ll pass on the lollipop earrings unless they come with refills though, they won’t last long. 🙁

    Wow, I would wear all those things. That is like the shop of my dreams and I hope to own something similar one day myself when I can finally get together the funds to bring my own designs to life ^ ^

    @ Gem: It’s a teeny-tiny shop, only about 1.5m x 1.5m! I’m sure you’ll achieve your dream soon, and I’ll be one of your customers 😉
