Fact: you can never, ever have too much jewellery. Samuel and I are both firm believers in this, but he’s in a league of his own and has taken over our 1950s drinks cabinet with all his finery. On the other hand, I do have Japanese fashion magazines littering many of the flat surfaces of Tokyo Telephone Tower, so I guess we’re almost even.
Back to the matter at hand, the La Foret department store in Harajuku is at the best of times a visual feast and at the worst a hustling bustling nightmare full of teenagers with pointy shoes and even pointier elbows. Firmly part of the feast, and only nightmarish in the best possible way, is the jewellery boutique Too Much!! (exclamation marks included).
The golden skull is a portent of things to come. Follow me…
I am utterly in love with the studded headpieces (perfect with a few NOMI creations too?) – any excuse for a crown!
Massive headbows any lolita or Gaga would be proud of…
I’m pretty sure the roses could double as umbrellas!
Gorgeous dusty pink wig & cream accessories – stunning with dolly-kei
1980s inspired pieces make up much of Too Much’s own brand collection
Love the fruity bug necklaces!
Cocktail rings with animal themes, and bright shades that would compliment the upcoming colour blocking trends
More spooky sweetness…
A few fab items from F.E.A.R – luxury punk pops up again!
Feathers galore! I think Dame Edna would be a fan, but we’d have to have lilac haired dance battle to see who gets first pick – now that’s a mental image and a half!
Colour themes & painbox colours. I think I’ve even got a lipstick to match!
