According to July’s issue of Egg magazine, there’s a bunny revolution this summer!

As seen on Mami & Yumachi above, hair accessories this season in Tokyo are taking on a rabbit-theme. Bows are either large and floppy, tied up head scarves, or wired ribbon that when twisted together create the usagi mimi (bunny ears). It’s a very cute look, and is great with this summer’s omnipresent trends of girly floral prints and pale denim.

I love this take on the trend from Glad News (3675yen/£29/$40); the black lace gives it a more mature feel, and would look great co-ordinated with a cropped rider’s jacket and floral all-in-one for a grungy feel to a feminine outfit.

From Gimlet (1575yen/£12/$17), this particular hair accessory is bang on trend. Great for those who feel the couture-influenced full-on bunny ears aren’t quite for them, this would be great for a slightly flatter, softer look. Pair with artfully tousled hair and a white blouse for a modern bohemian style.
