As you’re probably aware by now, I’m a huge fan of tattoos – so much so that I’m starting to worry about running out of blank skin. Thanks to issue 11 of Men’s Spider magazine, I no longer have that problem!

That’s right – hair tattoos! I must admit that they kind of remind me of hair mascara (remember that?!) and fiddling around putting blue streaks in my hair as a 10 year old, but hey – the 1990s are retro now, right?

Check out the huge silver wing & sakura dripping multi-coloured petals! I have a feeling they last longest when the hair is pinned back, as in the photo with the butterfly design, but they do wash out. So far it seems to be mostly a gyaru/gyaru-o trend, but imagine coordinating your latest lolita fashion dress with a hair tattoo too! Samuel & I saw one guy in Shinjuku with a hair tattoo, and it really made for a stand-out look.

I think they’re great – non-permanent and a brilliant way to add a bit of sparkle to a special outfit!

Would you consider a hair tattoo? Or is it one trend that’s best left on the streets of Tokyo?

I kind of love it! Especially the little jewels…
Do you think it’s something you’d go for?

They look awsome! I’d probably do a hair tattoo if I was having a night out to some crazy club or something. If only it would look as awsome at one in the pictures ๐Ÿ™‚

    Thanks for the comment!

I think this may have been a short-lived trend! I do like the look though and I agree it would be great for a party. I think you’d need a clear stencil and a good friend to help with it! ๐Ÿ™‚
